i-Grad Virtual Academy?

Students will be required to attend in-person for certain key assessments each semester, including all standardized testing, and can attend optional in-person sessions throughout the semester in addition to their virtual work. Families must provide transportation to any in-person sessions and students.
Who is the faculty?
The i-Grad faculty consists of highly qualified core content teachers and one counselor who are all dedicated to best practices for virtual and face to face instruction.
What platform will students use?
High school coursework is delivered through Edgenuity with i-Grad instructors and is fully accredited and NCAA compliant.
Students must provide their own device and internet access to participate.
When and how do students apply?
Applications for the 2023-2024 school year open on February 1 and are due by March 1, 2023.
Students and parents complete the online form and get at least one recommendation from their current school. Applications should be filled out for the rising grade level (the level the student will be in for next school year). The application process will give students the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to be successful in a virtual environment.
Application decisions and notifications will begin on a rolling basis, and accepted students/parents will be contacted with enrollment information.
See ENROLLMENT INFO PAGE for applications, recommendations, and much more information.
i-Grad Virtual Academy opened in August 2021 as a 9-12 Virtual High School, the first in Cherokee County School District history. The school opened with 177 students and is located at 8871 Knox Bridge Highway in Canton on what is now known as ACTIVE Campus. The ACTIVE Campus is the former Teasley Middle School campus, built in 1986 and used for that purpose until 2013, and it houses i-Grad Virtual Academy, ACE Academy, the district’s alternative school, C3 College and Career Academy, the district’s new Career Focused program open to students in all six traditional high schools, and the Transition Academy, a program for special needs students who gain job and life skills after they have completed their diplomas in the traditional high schools.
ACTIVE is an acronym that incorporates the programs and schools housed on campus, and the name of i-Grad was developed to incorporate the virtual aspect of the school with the end goal, which is graduation from high school as a future ready graduate.
i-Grad Virtual Academy offers a unique model where students take a full selection of high school courses in a digital format, often working from home with the opportunity to come to campus to work and receive instruction and support from their teachers. This includes hands-on activities and demonstrations that work better in person, and these on-campus opportunities are a favorite of students and teachers alike.
